He laughed. “You know perfectly well I’m not-my dear.”
I think that this passage is very important because it is when Kit knows that Shakespeare knows her secret. This is very important to the story because know Kit and Peter don’t have to keep their secret from one more person. Soon after Shakespeare finds out, Kit will tell her whole story which is also very important.

“On the contrary,” retorted Kit, “I bet it means a great deal. The question is, What exactly? More treason if I know anything!”
I think that this passage is very meaningful because Kit is referring to the fact that there is plenty of treason in this book. Even when things are good for Kit and Peter, something always has to happen to disturb the peace. I think that this is a very important notion in the book.

Receding (p. 100, paragraph 1): To move back or away from a limit, point or limit.
Mimic: (p. 101 paragraph 2): A person who imitates, especially a performer skilled in imitating others.
Apprentices: (p. 101 paragraph 4): One that has legally agreed to work for a specific amount of time in return for instruction in an art. About the Globe theatre:
The Globe Theatre was an octagon shaped theatre in London. It was one of four popular theatres in this area. It could seat up to 3,000 people and it was about 3 stories high. There were trap doors under the stage so actors could get off the stage or go to switch costumes easily. Shakespeare’s plays were preformed at the Globe extremely often.
Fact: Shakespeare’s wife, Anne Hathaway was eight years older then Shakespeare.

Discussion director: cue for treason
(p. -98 to 140)
1. What do you think that Peter and Kit will do with the poem? Will they keep it to themselves or show someone else?
I think that they will tell Shakespeare about the poem. Therefore, they will have to confess what they did to the script. I think this would be the right thing to do because Shakespeare already knows their deepest, darkest secrets so I think he will be able to keep one more for the two friends.
2. Do you think that sir Phillip is involved with stealing a play? If not, what else could the yellow gentleman been talking about?
I think that he is involved with stealing the play because sir peter seems to have an important role in the book and I suspect that he might be doing something very bad. He is probably involved with stealing the play, but e might be involved in other serious business.
3. Do you think that Burbage will end up finding out that Kit is actually a girl? What will his reaction be?
I think that someday, Burbage will have to find out about kit. I think he will at first be very mad. Afterwards, my guess is that Shakespeare will convince him to keep Kit in the company because she is such a great actor.
4. Who do you think that the yellow gentleman was talking to in the house when Peter tried to get the script back? What do you think his role is?
I think that the yellow gentleman was talking to one of his allies. Maybe later on in the book we will find out that he is somebody very important…just guessing.
